Portable loan center opens in Hephzibah to help homeowners and businesses

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – On Friday, the Small Business Administration will open a Portable Loan Center in Richmond County for homeowners and businesses that suffered damage from Hurricane Helene.

The center will be open on Friday from 1pm to 6pm at the satellite mayor’s office behind Parkers Kitchen in Hephzibah.

The SBA provides low-interest, long-term loans to businesses, homeowners, renters, and non-profit organizations to cover claims not covered by insurance or other sources.

Disaster loans for economic damage are also available to small businesses that have experienced a significant drop in sales after the disaster, whether or not they suffered physical damage.
