JD Vance makes bizarre anti-trans claims in Joe Rogan interview

Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance continues to make controversial comments ahead of the 2024 US election.

Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance told Joe Rogan that people adopt a trans identity to reject their “white privilege” and thereby improve their chances of being accepted into college.

During a podcast interview with a controversial comedian Joe RoganVance has made several controversial comments about trans and non-binary people.

With the presidential election just days away, a poll found that 92% of trans and non-binary respondents are feeling anxious about the result with some even preparing to flee the country if Donald Trump regains the White House.

Republicans are said to have spent millions of dollars on anti-trans adscriticizing Vice President Kamala Harris’ support for transgender rights.

“Gender Madness”

JD Vance reiterated the Republican Party’s anti-trans rhetoric, arguing that what he called “gender madness” was “most common among upper-middle-class and lower-middle-class white progressives.”

He went on to say, “You might think this is a cultural trend that we should be questioning a lot more than we are now.

“If you’re a middle-class or upper-middle-class white parent and the only thing you care about is whether your kid gets into Harvard or Yale, obviously that path has become much more difficult for many of the upper-middle class. -class children.”

Describing transgender as a “social signifier,” the Ohio senator told Rogan, “But the only way these people can participate in the DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) bureaucracy in this country is to be trans. If you come out as trans, that’s a way of rejecting your white privilege.”

His comments contradict Vance’s much-publicized friendship with a trans woman, Sofia Nelson, while in college. His former friend spoke repeatedly about Vance’s change in political stance.

In previous interviews, Nelson has said that the Vance they knew is not the same as it was presented to the public in the campaign.

“I am devastated by the transformation they have decided to undergo… The JD I got to know in law school… was caring and compassionate. Obviously we didn’t share a common politics, but growing up in Wayland, Michigan, it was nothing new for me to develop friendships and respect across the political divide,” Nelson. he told the Detroit Free Press.

Trans journalist Erin Reed was one of many people to publicly condemn Vance’s remarks.

Elsewhere in the interview, Vance attacked reproductive rights, claiming that some women “publicly celebrate their abortions by baking birthday cakes and sharing posts about it.”

Vance he had a difficult time in the election campaign with more than a few blunders and controversies following him around.

In the most recent poll published in ForbesDemocrat Harris has the slimmest of leads over former President Trump, with — importantly — 10 percent of people who said they were likely to vote Tuesday (Nov. 5) still undecided about which candidate to support.
