Aishwarya Rai is one of India’s biggest female superstars. She has turned down blockbuster films with Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, and still established herself as a global icon.

In her career, Aishwarya has also turned down films with superstars, such as Aamir Khan’s Raja Hindustani, in which Karisma Kapoor was later roped in. She refused to play second fiddle to Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The role was eventually played by Rani Mukerji, after half a dozen actresses had said no to Karan Johar. Rai also reportedly turned down Akshay Kumar’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa as she was not sure if she would be able to do justice to the role.
