PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Detachment of the West Virginia State Police and the Drunk Driving Prevention Commission will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint from 6 p.m. to Nov. 21 on West Virginia Route 95 in Parkersburg near the Dollar General Store.

The checkpoint may be moved to an alternate location if the primary location becomes unsafe due to traffic congestion or if a dangerous or unsafe situation arises, State Police said.

The purpose of the checkpoint is to prevent and deter impaired driving. Motorists who want to avoid the checkpoint can take an alternate route of travel, State Police said.
