Peoria Police Arrest 1 After Stabbing During Football Game

PHOENIX – A 14-year-old suspect surrendered to police Wednesday nearly two weeks after a stabbing at a Peoria high school football game, authorities said.

On October 18 at approximately 9:15 p.m., Peoria Police responded to a stabbing during the game near 11200 N. 83rd Avenue. Authorities believe it was an isolated incident involving two children that happened near the bleachers.

One child suffered a minor abdominal injury and was taken to a local hospital, while the 14-year-old suspect fled the scene before authorities could reach him.

An investigation determined that there was a disagreement between the two individuals that led to the stabbing.

The 14-year-old suspect was taken to the Durango Juvenile Detention Center and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault.

No other information was made available.
