Julie Chen Moonves has shared her advice for those seeking a strong marriage, six years after several women accused her husband Leslie Moonves of sexual misconduct, leading to his resignation from CBS.

Speaking to Page Six, she recommended having a “forgiving heart”, avoiding shouting and the phrase to say to a partner in the middle of a disagreement.

“When you know you’re right, don’t screw up,” Julie said in the post. “It’s better to have a forgiving heart and think, ‘I’ll take a deep breath.’

“Never yell,” he also suggested.

“Oh, here’s the best,” he continued. “If you have a disagreement … this is what you say to your partner: ‘Because it makes me happy.’

Julie Chen Moonves has shared her advice for having a strong marriage, six years after her husband Leslie Moonves was fired from CBS following allegations of sexual misconduct from several women.

Julie has been married to Leslie, the former chairman and CEO of CBS Corporation, for 20 years. They share a 15-year-old son Charlie.

Leslie was one of television’s most influential figures, credited with turning around the fortunes of CBS when she took over as head of entertainment in 1995.

He had been one of the highest-paid executives in the country, earning about $70 million a year by the end of his career with the company.

But he quickly fell out of favor in 2018 when allegations emerged from several women who said he subjected them to abuse, including forced oral sex, beatings and retaliation if they resisted. The allegations spanned three decades.

He has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.

Finally, he resigned from his post.

“Decades-old false allegations are now being made against me that are inconsistent with who I am. Effective immediately, I will no longer be chairman and CEO of CBS,” Moonves said in a statement announcing his departure.

“I am deeply saddened to leave the company. I wish nothing but the best for the organization, the new board of directors and all of its employees.”

Amidst the scandal, Julie shared her solidarity with her husband in a statement posted on Twitter, writing: “I have known my husband, Leslie Moonves, since the late 1990s, and it has been almost 14 years since I’m married to him.

“Leslie is a good man and a loving father, a devoted husband and an inspiring corporate leader. He has always been a kind, decent and moral human being. I fully support my husband and stand behind him and his statement” .

While promoting her memoir, But First, God , last year, Julie told People that she and her husband “leaned on” each other during the ordeal.

“We have such a strong bond,” she said.

“We leaned on each other and knew nothing could break us. It was our love and our foundation that got us through.’
