Harrison Ford Reacts to Viral Photo of 1982 Cannes Film Festival Dress: ‘I Feel Ill’

Don’t call him a style icon

Don’t ask Harrison Ford about his shorts.

In an interview with GQpublished on October 14 before shrinkageIn the season two premiere, the legendary actor, 82, reflected on his role on the Apple TV+ comedy, along with a style moment that still has fans swooning.

“That’s it GQso I have to ask you a fashion question,” says journalist Gabriella Paiella in their conversation.

“There’s this photo of you at the Cannes Film Festival in 1982, where you’re wearing blue shorts and a blue sweater. It’s become this kind of glittering star-inspired outfit for menswear enthusiasts. In do you know that?”

Ford replied, “I think I’m going to get sick.” He admits he’s “seen that picture” and when asked if he’s a fan he says, “I’m done.”

The famous dress features the Indiana Jonesstar in a navy sweater with matching shorts. Attached to the shorts is a button that says “E.T“The sci-fi film directed by Steven Spielberg was the closing film of the 1982 film festival.

Ford completes the look in aviator shades and premium leather shoes, outside the Hotel Cap-Eden-Roc in the south of France.

The outfit is frequently re-emerging on the internet, with fans obsessing over its short shorts and effortlessly cool style, and some even copying it.

“Harrison Ford deserves a standing ovation for these photos,” one fan of the ensemble said in 2022. “He’s so ridiculously handsome,” wrote another years earlier in 2016. Many fans mention his shorts and the amount of leg he he showed , NSFW comments ready.

In another part of his interview, Ford also spontaneously touched him by piercing his ear. “You know the story. I just had lunch with Jimmy Buffett and Ed Bradley. That’ll do you every time,” she said, referring to her being “way ahead of the curve with the earring.”

“I saw they both had earrings on. So, right after lunch, they pierced my ear,” she previously said in April of the piercing that came after her “boco” lunch. “That’s how infectious Jimmy’s coolness is.”

“Infectious enough for a 40-year-old man to spontaneously pierce his ear. And infectious enough to create an entire culture around his music,” he continued.

“There’s no other way to put it – there’ll never be another one like Jimmy.”
