Swamp Daddy’s will host a fundraiser for addiction recovery efforts

The owners of downtown Creole restaurant Swamp Daddy’s Cajun Kitchen will host a fundraiser this week for Face It TOGETHER, an area nonprofit that supports addiction recovery.

Del’Inkka and Julian Beaudion hosted Face It in the Fire Thursday, a charity event that will feature ingredient-specific cooking between 11 area chefs at the Washington Pavilion. Two chefs will engage in a final battle live on stage and guests will be able to vote for a winner at the end of the night.

Swamp Daddy’s Resilience: Southern Cajun Sioux Falls Creole restaurant to reopen after three major damages

A restaurant in recovery

Swamp Daddy’s, in the Jones Building on North Phillips Avenue, continues to emerge on the restaurant scene after closing last spring to renovate from a glycol leak. And this isn’t the first obstacle they’ve faced since opening in 2020. They had a fire last year and a flood in 2022, both of which only required them to close for a few weeks.

“It’s been a long time since we’ve been open and been able to serve our community, and we definitely miss that,” Del’Inkka Beaudion said in an Argus Leader story earlier this summer. After a six-month closure, they reopened in August with an updated menu and fan-favorite gator dishes in store.
