Hacked Pokemon developer: Game source codes, beta designs exposed in major leak

Pokemon developer Freak game has recognized a significant data breach after a massive leak of internal Pokemon materials flooded social media over the weekend.
The company said in a statement that unauthorized access to its servers in August led to the theft of personal information for more than 2,600 current and former employees.
While Game Freak’s statement didn’t directly address the Pokemon content leak, fans have been sharing suspicions source codesbeta designs and plans for upcoming titles from Saturday.
The leaked files, called “Teraleak” by some, contain source codes for previous games such as Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, codenames for Nintendoupcoming console (“Ounce”) and Gen 10 Pokemon games (“Gaia”), references to an ongoing development Pokemon MMOunpublished details Detective Pikachu and other Pokemon movie sequels, information about a new anime series, numerous Pokemon beta designs and concept art, and internal design meeting discussions.
The scope of the leak appears to be massive, with plenty of unpublished content and insider information now circulating online. Neither Nintendo nor The Pokemon Company has publicly commented on Pokemon-related leaks as of Sunday evening.
Game Freak said it is beefing up its security measures in response to the breach. The company apologized to those affected by the unauthorized access to employee data, but did not address the broader implications of the alleged Pokemon leaks.
The incident marks one of the biggest breaches in Pokemon history, potentially exposing years of internal development materials and plans for the multibillion-dollar franchise.
