ScotRail to hire engineers at Inverness depot

Train operator ScotRail is inviting qualified engineers to apply for new jobs at its Inverness depot as it expands its engineering workforce in the Highlands to improve reliability.

ScotRail is one of the largest operators, offering nearly one hundred million journeys a year. Inverness is one of four main maintenance centers it operates in Scotland.

At these depots, workers maintain and service more than six hundred trains, and ScotRail prides itself on the high quality and engineering standards it achieves.

Five years ago, ScotRail upgraded Inverness depot by adding new equipment.

ScotRail has been recognized as a Top Employer on several occasions. It offers positions with salaries starting at £47,338 per annum and rising to £53,039 on completion of training.

The operator describes the new jobs as “a great opportunity for skilled mechanical and electrical engineers”.

Candidates should have the relevant qualifications in electrical or mechanical and should also be familiar with quality management procedures (ISO 9001).
