Air Peace reacts to the report of charges against its CEO in the US

Air Peace has reacted to a report of fraud charges by the US Department of Justice against its Chief Executive Officer, Allen Onyema, and Head of Finance/Administration, Mrs. Ejiro Eghagha.

The airline, in a statement on Sunday, said the matter was before the courts, stressing that it understood the development could have raised concerns and wanted to address those reports directly.

According to the statement, the charges are part of an extended legal process stemming from previous allegations of financial wrongdoing dating back several years.

He said that although the charges have been expanded, it would be imperative to point out that these are mere allegations and the case is still in court.

“Our legal team is fully committed to the matter and is working tirelessly to ensure that justice prevails.

“We trust that through due process, the truth will be revealed and our CEO and co-accused will be exonerated,” he added.

He further said that Onyema and his legal team had consistently cooperated with the authorities throughout the process, adding that Air Peace had continued to operate without interruption, maintaining its commitment to effective services.

“We want to assure the public that these legal proceedings will not affect the safety, reliability or daily operations of Air Peace,” he said.
