Warriors GM reveals the team’s big change without Klay Thompson

For more than a decade, Klay Thompson was a focal point of the Golden State Warriors offense. Now, the team must find a way to create their free-flowing offense without him. Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. he thinks he has the solution.

During a broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area on Friday, Dunleavy talked about how he expects the team to change without Klay Thompson. In Dunleavey’s eyes, the Warriors will distribute three-point shots throughout the team. However, the team as a whole will be up a lot more than three this season compared to last season, regardless of whether they go down or not.

“There are going to be nights where they are, and hopefully there are more nights where they are than there aren’t,” Dunleavy said of going down three. “And like I said, the last time I checked, the three counts more than the two, so how many more can we get up, especially with the shooters we have, we want to do. I would say with Klay leaving, the The last few years with Klay and Steph, there’s a lot of focus on getting them shots, and rightfully so.”

Now that Klay Thompson is gone, Mike Dunleavy Jr. he wants the whole team to stand up by three. The focus now is to spread the wealth.

“But in this scenario, with Klay out and just Steph in there, we’re looking for everybody now and I think that’s going to be our approach,” Dunleavy said. “We’ve got a bunch of guys that can lift it. And as long as they’re good shots, good pace and created the right way, we want to take them.”

Dunleavy’s idea sounds great in theory, but hopefully, the Warriors can maintain a high three-point percentage. Otherwise, this strategy could go wrong, very quickly.
