Liam Gallagher Reacts to ‘SNL’ Sketch About Oasis Feud

The Gallagher brothers were the center of the joke on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.

Liam, 52, and Noel Gallagher, 57, were portrayed by Sarah Sherman and James Austin Johnson, respectively, during the Weekend Update segment that poked fun at the siblings’ notorious feud, which led to a reply from Liam.

Colin Jost began the segment by announcing that tickets are on sale for Oasis’ US tour “which comes as a surprise to some as the band has been famously competing for decades.”

The brothers, played by Sherman, 31, and Johnson, 35, joined Jost, 42, and addressed the state of their relationship.

“I’m cool if he’s cool,” Johnson said as Noel.

“I’m cool. I’m cool. I’m cooler than you,” Sherman replied as Liam.

“Great, so that’s a no,” Jost said.

The brothers went back and forth as ‘Noel’ jokingly started singing his hit ‘Wonderwall’ while calling ‘Liam’ a ‘baby’.

Later in the segment, Jost asked the pair how their feud began.

“Wembley Stadium, 1993,” said “Liam,” who accused “Noel” of telling the Spice Girls he had a “crooked bum,” which “Noel” denied doing.

After another brief fight, the siblings got back together to rank their favorite “Sex and the City” boyfriends and Will Smith movies.

“We’re not going on tour!” they shouted in unison.

The real Liam had a scathing response to the skit on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “They’re meant to be comedians.”

Oasis formed in 1991 in Manchester, but the band was almost always plagued by drama between the Gallagher brothers.

After years of exploits and trashing the press, the group officially called it quits in 2009 when Noel announced he was leaving the band.

“It is with some sadness and great relief… I left Oasis tonight,” Noel said in a statement at the time. “People will write and say what they want, but I just couldn’t go on working with Liam another day.”

In 2018, Liam claimed that Noel was “desperate” to return to Oasis and blamed Noel’s ex Sara for stopping him from rejoining the group.

Liam took a dig at his brother as recently as February, when he blasted the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when Oasis was nominated for induction into the group. Liam stated that he would not be attending the ceremony in Cleveland, but assumed that Noel would be attending as “this guy loves hanging out with celebrities”.

However, the brothers miraculously put their differences aside long enough to announce an Oasis 2025 UK tour.

They both shared the news on their social media in August, writing: “That’s it, it’s happening.”

Liam and Noel will play a total of 4 concerts at Wembley Stadium in London, as well as 4 concerts in Manchester as well as shows in Scotland, Wales and Ireland next summer.
