A former Harrods doctor who worked there during the “predatory” reign of Mohammed Al-Fayed says he refused to perform sexual health tests on potential victims.

Al-Fayed, who died last year aged 94, has been accused of a litany of sex crimes against dozens of women, some as young as 15, during the years he owned the most prestigious department store in London

More than 20 former Harrods employees accused him of sexual assault, including rape, and the Met Police have since announced that they are now investigating 40 new allegations, bringing the total number of women who have been complained to over 60.

The notorious germophobe is accused of ordering young staff members he found attractive to undergo “invasive” STD tests, with the results sent to him.

Dr. Jenny Duckham, 78, headed the occupational health department when Al-Fayed bought the store in 1985.

She told The Times that the HR team “came in” and asked if he would do “gynecological tests” on the women shortly after he took over the store.

Dr Duckham said she answered “absolutely not”. Why? and HR said he told her not to worry and that they would “take care of it”.

“I heard he sent them out of the store, he would pay the doctors outside to get them tested,” he said.

“I thought he was a dirty old man… I just thought the guy was horrible and crazy and what do you do, really? The vibe was pretty c**p.’

Dr Duckham claimed everyone “knew it wasn’t safe” and the person who asked him to do the tests asked in a way that suggested they knew it was “inappropriate”.

He said that by refusing to take the test, he believed it would “shut her down”, but now believes it was “extremely naive of me”. But he explained that he had “no idea” the extent of his behaviour.

He said Al-Fayed had a “small empire with locked doors on the top floor” of the building, but still fondly remembers the shop as “Aladdin’s cave”.

After she was fired in 1991, she destroyed her confidential staff memos because she was afraid Al-Fayed might read them.

Dr Duckham recalled other disturbing stories about Al-Fayed telling staff to pull a “black face” and “pay them”.

Survivors have publicly named three doctors as allegedly administering sexual health tests to the former Harrods boss.

Dr Ann Coxon, 84, who still practices in Harley Street, refused to take tests.

He is alleged to have carried out “invasive” and “totally unnecessary” STD screenings for the legacy of the disgraced billionaire.

The doctor, who still runs a clinic on London’s prestigious Harley Street, was nominated by Fayed’s victims.

But when asked last week if he regretted working for the alleged sexual predator, he replied: “No, I don’t.”

One of Fayed’s victims, who is part of the Justice for Harrods survivor group, told the BBC that “the examinations carried out by Dr Coxon were intrusive and completely unnecessary”.

“They also caused many employees’ confidential medical information, including mine, to be inappropriately shared at Harrods,” the victim added.

“This shouldn’t have happened.”

The victims’ group has reported Dr Coxon to the UK’s medical regulator, the General Medical Council.

Hired as a PA at Al-Fayed, Lindsay, now 55, was told she needed to see a doctor before starting work.

The Mail on Sunday said Dr Thomas Bozek, 75, who also continues to practise, gave her an “invasive examination”.

Wendy Snell, another doctor named by the alleged victims, died.

Dr Duckham said: “It was awful. Am I sorry? Well, I’m very sad for these girls.’

She wants the GMC to investigate doctors alleged to have carried out these tests who are still practising, calling it “surprising” that anyone would agree.

An Australian doctor who allegedly carried out the sexual health tests has denied claims he did so at his request, insisting that even if he had tested Harrods staff he would never have shared his details with the predatory billionaire.

Dr. Jane Reffell allegedly made one

Dr Jane Reffell allegedly gave a “thorough gynecological examination” to a young lawyer who was handpicked to work for Fayed in 1989 because of her good looks.

Dr. Jane Reffell allegedly performed a “thorough gynecological exam” on a young lawyer who was handpicked to work for Fayed in 1989 because of her good looks.

The billionaire would later make repeated sexual advances towards the then 25-year-old lawyer, forcing her to lock herself in the bathroom of her Paris suite.

Daily Mail Australia tracked down Dr Reffell to the sleepy town of Bangalow in NSW’s Northern Rivers region, about 15 minutes inland from hippy hangout Byron Bay, where she has run a women’s health practice since 2002

Journalist Tom Bowers’ book alleged that Dr Reffell “understood what Fayed required”, which was that his female staff were in good sexual health before devouring them.

However, Dr. Reffell vehemently denied ever playing that role.

“I don’t think it was me,” he told this publication.

“There are other doctors who worked very closely with Fayed, but not me.”

Asked if she had ever tested a Harrods employee for sexual health, Dr Reffell said: “I did test, but it was privately and confidentially.

“And I never did them for Al Fayed per se, but I might have done them for his staff if they were patients of the practice.”

Dr Reffell said sharing a patient’s confidential information was a “red line” she would never cross.

She said she was “horrified” by the revelations and expressed sympathy for Fayed’s victims.
