Detroit Lions get positive news on Malcolm Rodriguez’s injury

The Detroit Lions He reportedly got some positive injury news from linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez.

According to NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, “Malcolm Rodriguez avoided a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s game against the Titans. It aggravated an old ankle injury, but it’s nothing serious. Rodrigo will likely miss Week 9, but should be back in Week 10 against the Texans.”

The talented linebacker was unable to return for Detroit’s Week 8 home contest after injuring his ankle in the first quarter.

The third year linebacker earned praise for his ability to adapt to multiple roles and changes in his playing time.

The veteran linebacker gave the Lions defense which was to be expected.

Dan Campbell indicated during his Monday press session that the 29-year-old “gave a good day’s work” in Detroit’s win at Ford Field.

Leos are not in panic mode because of the lack of pressure

“Man, he did some things for us. He was active, he played aggressively, he was physical,” Campbell said. “And so, he went in there and gave us a good day’s work, exactly what we talked about. Now there were some things we needed to clear up mentally with him.

“And like you said, part of the rush, there were about three where, we feel a little bit better, maybe, from a couple of things he’s doing, then he could help around the perimeter with (Alim McNeill ) Mac and some of that other stuff,” Campbell further commented. “So those are just little things to clean up, but man, I thought he came in and gave us a good day’s work and it’s definitely something to build off of.”
